Yes it's definitely worth for the money.
The only thing was glued is the chess board, but i think you can still take it off easily.

I am not sure if I'd recommend trying to remove the chess board pieces. I tried that on one and it seemed to damage some of them.

Apart from the chess board its all loose LEGO!!!

I own several and wish I could have bought more. I actually wish I could have gotten the KKII ones of the shadow knights.

I'd also be interested in ungluing information as that big green baseplate would come in handy for me (I have a shortage of green baseplates right now).

At least the figs and other pieces are unglued...24 figs for 34,99€ is nice.

WarOrk,

Sadly the viking chess set is the only one of the castle and castlesque chess sets I do not have any of.... no idea if the horns were glued but the castle chess sets come glue free on the figures. I have tried picking a viking chess set up as its the only viking set I lack but always have been outbid. I am not made of money.... good thing or I'd have been sold or stolen a long time ago.

The viking set mini's were glued but the glue on all the ones I purchased was easily removable. I could break the bond with an easy snap and used a small hobby pick to remove the residue which came off easily. The figs came out with a few very minor scratches. The board on the other hand was a complete loss and I tossed it.

*Edit* The horns and helmets were not glued on any of the sets I purchased. Just the torso to hip connections.

Funny, on mine the horns were glued into the helmets but the torsos were NOT glued on (except for the queens).

On my two copies of the viking chess sets the horns were glued as well as the female minifig, and of course the board. I tried removing the plates from the baseplate, I mean a white baseplate could have all sorts of uses, but sadly not only did the studs of the baseplate get damaged, the understuds of the plates were damaged and the glud on the sides of the black plates took paint off. Oh and the baseplate got a little warped when I got angry with it :) . My advise, don't try take glued pieces apart. They were glued for one reason, to stay put and they do that pretty well.

I would say that in general, the chess sets are always worth the money. Even the glued sets are a good value, as they are army builders.

I'd say buy at least one of each if you want to have some figs.
Knight Templar
