pirate exclusive 6253

Post by timber_wolf899 »

ANy thoughts on this? to me it looks like the best of the 'bases' so far, with regard to pirates.

You have to love the BLUE rowboat!

And exactly what color is that bridge, and for that mater the treasure chest??

p.s. sorry i don't have a link. Pictures at brickset et al.

Here ya go:

6253 - Shipwreck Hideout

Looks like a nice set. A goodly number of figs, including the pirate wench. Weapons, too, so this could be seen as a pirates theme army builder (though that would give you multiple pirate captains). Is there a price on this one?

Well, in this pic, they look dark tan and pearl gold, respectively.

That is what i thought too, but did not want to get my hopes up. You know how lighting can play tricks.

Be nice to have pearly gold chests in more than one set, but i hope they don't overdo it.

EDIT
bruce, thanks for the link.

I believe i heard 40 as the price point. If so this is great! It may be incorrect, or a teaser price though, like the dwarf mine.

Uh... is it just me, or is that chick using a goblet as a spyglass? :?

Anyway, the nice variety of pieces and minifigs may convince me to buy this. I'm actually not convinced on whether or not any of the new Pirates stuff is worth it...

Checked the local TRU and Target here last night (I live in Detroit suburbs) and I didn't see any mention of pirates sets. Not sure where that guy got his at as there are no Lego stores here either.

At my local ToysRus it was $39.99 +7% sales tax($42.79)

My version had 8 extra parts. I posted about them here on page 4:

The bridge is dark tan and the spyglass is a new part. For $40 dollars, that's quite the expensive army building set.

I really don't like this set as a set. Yes, great army builder for 40$ (probably 60$ Can.) But for a shipwreck Island. No, this set is not on my want list.

I like the original ship wreck island the best.

It looks pretty neat but I will have to see after the new 2009 castle sets come out... The Market will empty my new year lego budget

Looks neat. I wish there were a few sets that were smaller with the female figs. Seems they are mostly in the 40 dollar plus range which really limits them.

The only thing I want out of this set is the female pirate.
