Power Miners @ Target!

Post by siabur »

I just found a few of the Power Miner sets at Target. The set seemed high priced to me, must be the specialty pieces. I think the only way I would get them is if someone bought them for me. I'm not impressed with these at all.

The little hatchets. If you go on Bricklink, they are under the minifig utensil section. I thought I saw one on a Power Miners box pic. I could be mistaken.

What part of the country are you in? I checked my local Target and they didn't have em'. (Though they restocked quite a bit)

I think that's a dark bley hatchet on the side there:

I found one set at my local Target today (Charlotte, NC). It was set 8958 that's pictured above - sorry Username, but the hatchet in this set is black.

I'm in Colorado. They didn't have any today. I'm guessing the obnoxious colors are drawing them to children.

I'm usually a grumpy, critical bastard, but I'm kinda digging these sets (heh heh). I don't mind the green and orange because those are pretty standard utility vehicle colors.

Oh I think I can be critical. Just bleah. I am not in the target market for this. There may be some useful parts, but I have other Rock Monsters to fry.

Two things I like about these sets.

One is the little rock dudes. From the pictures I had seen, I didn't think I would like them. Now that I have a couple, I absolutely love them and so do my kids. They're just plain fun.

Two is the new element that looks like a sloped grill. Very greebly.

I agree the color selection isn't great but I've gotten over it.

Now to build my Rock Monster minion army...
