Wal-Mart has some good sales today

Post by KingDavid »

Among other clearance items, I noticed that the local Wal-Mart here has the Dwarves' Mine for $45.00 and the Troll Warship for $64.00 today Pretty good deals, if anyone is interested.

I got the Dwarves Mine for Christmas, but I still need the Troll ship. I wonder if the price will go down more. I'd like to get it at 50% off!

Thanks for the info, KD. My store had both sets at MSRP+ (the + is for markup), but I did see that the Speed Racer and Spongebob sets were 50% off.

And... I managed to grab a wagonful of Kings Castle Siege sets... for $30 each. :D

I was able to get the Mobile Command Lab for $35. The only other system set on sale was the Indy IV Temple for $64. That set will likely go on further clearance as many retailers have it. Unfortunately the rest of my walmart sets were bionicle.

Most of the sets they still had in stock seemed to be on clearance at my Wal Mart today. The Republic Gunship was $99 (not the cheapest I have seen it, but not retail either). The River Chase (Indiana Jones) was $20 or so and the Jungle Cutter was $30. I picked up another Dwarves Mine. May pick up more if they keep dropping.

I went to two Wal-Marts in Pasadena, TX today - I spent 5 minutes looking around, and realized they didn't have *any* LEGO - not even empty shelf space where they should have been. I asked someone stocking the toy section, and they confirmed that they did not have any LEGO.

I'm visiting family here, and I also noticed that the Super Target had very very little LEGO in stock when I went the day after Christmas - probably 10 sets for sale TOTAL, and a lot of empty shelves where the LEGO normally is. It seems like either there was there a huge run on LEGO for Christmas around here or something.

I'm hoping there still some good stuff left when I get back to Manassas tomorrow.

I hope the sale at the local Wal-Mart here wasn't a one-day thing. They had the Indiana Jones Jungle Cutter set on clearance for $30.00 and I've been "Jones-ing" for some parts that will help me delve a bit into the steampunk genre. The army tank tracks, motor, and smokestack parts would work nicely, as well as all the dark green military-type parts and hand-held weapons. And what doesn't go on my machinery looks to be pretty castle-friendly for the most part, such as the rock formation, plenty of foliage, and the wooden crate. Anyway, I've also been itching to build a dwarf tank to blow those trolls' warship away.

I am hoping the Jungle Cutter goes down a bit more. I would love to get that set.

You just might get your wish. It seems the people at Wal-Mart have lost their minds. Look what I just picked up there today:

That's pretty nuts. And I decided to invest in another Dwarves' Mine, which I may sell at a later time, if I can keep from opening it.

I checked out my Wal-mart. Disappointed to say the least. They had a small selection for some reason, and DM was still $58. Not KCS either.

One of the Reno Walmarts had about 2 dozen Troll Ships for $64. I passed on them, but with stock like that, if you wait a bit you might get an even better deal.

I went to three Wal-Marts near me this evening, and the only remotely decent deal was the Jungle Cutter for $30.

I feel so dirty, too. I broke my longstanding boycott of Wal-Mart today, though at least I didn't actually purchase anything. :(

That sucks. I've been looking for Dwarves Mine Defender and Knights Catapult Defense sets. There are none of either around here. I only have one of each. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky one of these days. Congrats.
