Abbey of Saint Rumare

Almost immediately after pacifying the area, the conquering crusaders decided a rock sticking out of a lake would be the perfect location to build a church and show their faith. Not long after they finished their house of God though, they found the need for fortifications around it became more and more urgent, with increasing attacks from heretic and blasphemous cults that were still active in the area.

With funds from the Vatican fortifications were built up around the church, and the crusaders garisoned in the fort fought off countless attacks and sieges. But even now the heretics of the area are still building up blasphemous tokens to their false gods.

So the Crusaders called in a fellow religious fanatic cult, the Hand of God, who didn't hesitate to send in a small strike force to raid the somewhat unsuspecting cultists' lands.

The size of this is 128x112 studs, for the LowLUG Castle Layout I had another part measuring 64x48 studs attached to the somewhat apocalyptic battlefield. And way more figs 'cause it fit

Best MOC for couple of months. And the angles...Yeah, I like it very much Great work, it remind's me Mt.Saint-Michelle in Bretagne.

As always your creations are sublime. This is no exception AC.
One of your best works, from the brickwork, to the angles of the architecture to the little details covering the whole gigantic structure.

Especially love that black+red guy ripping the other guy in half and that one interior detail you showed me in a WIP of the people looking at the rebel alliance tile embedded in the floor of the main hall in the Abbey. May I suggest you add/edit in a link to the overall display that you included this in and perhaps the video's that were made of it?

Anyway keep it up, you're our hero.

This is an awesome looking MOC. I could bore you with all the comments like "AC FTW" and "Instant Classic" , but instead I got to thinking.... "If I ever became a collector of AFOL's, Seb would definitely be in a jar on my top shelf". Great job as always and yet another MOC I'd like to have.

PS. Let not my silly comment detract from the coolness and the neat story and inspiring landscape.... or the style of the walls....and the way they curve....etc.etc.

How dare you build something so unbelievable?? This MOC is totally stunning...
To build such a MOC is beyond me : how could you have an overall view of the finished thing during the building... There is such an amount of detail...Did you make plans before starting?

My favourite unexpected part is the fabuland roof ! I never though to use it in a castle MOC...

Fantastic (as usual).

Once again you've produced a masterpiece. The range of angles and textures is absolutely amazing. I love that you're able to make a moderate sized MOC look far bigger than it is. This thing looks colossal! That being said, there are a suggestion that I would like to make an. The blue house next to the gate looks a tad out of place. On it's own it is nice enough but next to Saint Rumare it actually acts as a bit of a deterrant. Simply put; the house exposes the modest size (well compared to Mt. St. Michel) of the Abby. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does 'shrink' the MOC down to size so-to-speak.

I also like that you've taken the time to photoshop the background out of your MOCs. It really helps them stand out in all of their beauty.

Superb on many levels. Probably the best castle (if not the largest) one I've seen all year. Your angle work is by far the standout of the MOC even though many of the other features like the huge tower, and the horde are really cool.

Oh wow, absolutely love it. This style of tiered, multi-angled castle has always been my favorite and it's a joy to see one so well done. The amount of detail is incredible, and the landscaping is gorgeous. I wish I could see it in person.
