Next Best Theme

Post by thedevil44 »

There is a lot of talk about whether or not Castle will continue into next year, or if it will go on hiatus until it is redesigned. I was wondering which sets the castle community will purchase if Castle goes on hiatus. I personally think I will buy the PoP sets and the IJ sets if that line continues. I, (probably like most CC members) build almost exclusively in the castle theme so I usually only buy sets that have good cross over elements and pieces. I was wondering if most of the community does this or if they buy different themes because they build different themed MOCs and Displays.

I like Indy. But then Adventurers rates right up there with Castle as a favorite theme. I also build in several themes, not just castle. And Prince of Persia possesses potential for possible purchases...

Might get a few PoP sets, but I really, really wish they were not fleshies. Might use the time to just save money for future castle sets.

I grew up loving star wars so the SW lego theme will always be special to me. Same goes for indiana jones, and adventurers before that (mostly the dinosaur theme though, also due to a childhood love of dinosaurs). I also really liked the life on mars sets a few years back, but the mars mission revamp was horrible in my opinion. But for new sets, the Toy Story theme interests me quite a bit.

I'd have to go with either Classic Space or Classic Pirates. Nothing after the year 2000 for me though..... :) I suppose I am a lost cause for LEGO, unless they get back to their roots, which seems a very slim chance indeed. -Ben

I'll have to see what comes out next year, if there are any new pirates sets, those will be my first priority. I may also hunt around and pick up more of the smaller classic sets on bricklink/ebay.

I will only buy sets with parts and/or figs that fit into my castle theme. Other than that just buying lots of pieces for building. Not needing to buy castle for my lego castle collecting will free up my money for more conventions and a trip to Legoland in California.

I don't actually buy that much Castle sets anyway. Besides the MMV, this year is a huge no-go.

Indiana Jones and Prince of Persia together are just perfect Adventurers 2.0.

If there is no Castle theme, I will spend my money on everything but Lego. If Lego does not sell Castle sets, lego does not get Ahab's money. In fact, from after the release of the Black Falcon's Fortress untill the release of the Dwarven Mine Lego received exactly $0.00 dollars from me. I have no problem waiting another 20 years if I have to.

For me only one Lego theme exists, Castle.

As I had already the opportunity to say, I'm not planning to buy any of 2009 castle sets, aprt of Medieval Market Village, that I bought immediately.
I prefer spending my money in indiana jones classic and maybe Prince of Persia next year.
I was lucky and I bought at a very good price the temple of doom set and I must admit that is very nice set, very rich of useful pieces for castle theme as well.
This year I also bought the venice chase and 2 cairo market. I bought only indiana jones sets indeed.
