Has anybody seen the Mega Bloks Halo stuff?

Post by Knight of Honor »

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone bought the Halo Wars Mega Bloks stuff. I know that MB are hated here, but I saw an ad in a TRU toy list I got. If you bought them, are they good as in quality (I know, the quality sucks but how much?) and "minifig" articulation?
Also, are there any plans for Lego to get a license to make Lego Halo, or am I just bonkers?

Halo & Megablocks together is like the worst combination ever. You're talking two things devoid of any substance together at last.

Uhh. That didn't help...I already know that, it's just that I want to know if anyone's bought it or how the Spartan figs look.

I'll be honest. I have seen them at several stores. They look like Mega Bloks sets (in my eyes they are junk). I wouldn't waste my money, but it's your decision.

I wouldn't expect anything to be made for this theme by Lego. To my knowledge, Lego never aquires old Mega licences although Mega has no problem going the other way.

All I can really say is you won't see them in my house. ( sorry, I tried to be nice)

Disney? To be fair to you though Ahab, TLG did have it first so......

Seeing as MB Halo is a new license, I can't see TLG producing Halo sets anytime soon. I've seen the sets in stores and they look like MB sets and the figs seem to be the standard figs with all the crazy articulation that becomes prone to breaking and coming so loose with play that they don't stand on their own after a few days. Besides that fact, what does this have to do with LEGO? You aren't comparing this to a LEGO brand theme or anything, just straight up asking our opinions on a MB theme...you'll be lucky this topic doesn't get locked, burned and exorcised all the while you get a week long bannzors!!!;)

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

I have seen them and those who love Halo no matter the quality seem to snatch the sets up. The designs are interesting, but they are limited by the construction style used in MB sets and the parts. The larger gunship and tank are most interesting, but believe me, you'd much rather have these MOCed from your own LEGO collection. The figures are quite bad IMHO too as they don't quite make it as durable action figures and they do not integrate into construction sets as well as a LEGO minifigure. If you want to get them that is fine, but they are not going to be of the best quality over the long term.

My nephew is a big halo fan and he picked up two of the small sets for me. No a mb fan mind you, the plastic is brittle, two pieces broke durring assembly. The instructions were missing a step. The figs are okay. They don't seem to be sturdy. The only thing of value I got outta them were the weapons. They will be used in my comic. They'll go into the when the neighbor kids visit and want to play with my toys box.

My friend is planning on making a Halo movie and we thought it would be cool to buy the tank set and fill it with Fire crackers for long distance shots. :D

That would be a good idea for when you don't want to blow up the real building bricks. No, I don't consider MB's real building bricks.
