CCCVII- Technological Advancement: Bombard Mons Leg

Post by legokilt »

Here is my entry for the Technological Advancement. Behold the great Scotch Bombard Mons Leg. Built in the 15th century and presented as a gift to King Jameson VI this weapon can decimate castle walls and turrets, though it takes all day to load and fire more then a handful of times. Of course the explosion of the charge is enough to make some surrender.

Cool stuff, I like big cannons :D

It's Mons Meg though (not Mons Leg), and just to be nitpicky it's a Flemish gun, the Scots couldn't make something like this on their own account, they just borrowed it and never gave it back ;)

The real bombard was made named Mons Meg and was made by the Flemish and given to the Scots as a gift to king James IV (Might be wrong number). I thought a Lego version would be cool, but thought it didn't look look right calling it "Mons Leg(o)". as it is a MOC inspired by I had to change some names and naming the king after my favorite whiskey and the nation after is best export seemed like I couldn't resist.
