CCCVII - Great Wall of China - Shanhai Pass

Post by legogoalie »

Hi all,

Long time fan/lurker and first time entrant!

The formidable Wall of China has for centuries protected those behind the wall. The Shanhai Pass was a great fortress gateway which served to protect inner China from Manchuria.

...But the greatest of Gates are only as strong as their gatekeepers...

In 1644, Wu Sangui opened the gates at Shanhai Pass allowing the Manchu Army to pass through and conquer China, ending the Ming Dynasty and ushering in the Qing Dynasty.

Cheers indeed, Nice landscape and nice build of the wall. I also like the soldiers. Good luck in the contest, though I doubt you need it with this entry. Please make more creations and share them with us! :)

Yeah this is a great MOC indeed.
I'm loving the angles of the wall, and the fact it looks longer for it. Good technique in a category with a baseplate restriction.
I just wish you had picked a more violent time in history to portray, as you could probably make a cool battle scene out of this.
Good luck in the contest,
Ser Loktar
When I was a lad my mother told me that if I stood around all day with my mouth open a weasel was liable to mistake it for his den and jump right in. If you have something to say, say it, otherwise, beware of weasels.

Wow! Excellent work with the bamboo growing alongside the wall. The gate is spectacular itself! I think all of us CC fellows can agree this is a really grand entry!

Cheers to you too,
S.H

A great MOC, definitely a big contender for the prize, also definitely one of MY favourites.

Oh it was violent time back in the 1644's, just that this particular moment wasn't :P

...
and yes I must confess I had a big battle after the photo shot.

Alas the Chinese spear was no match for the Imperial Walkers :(
