This MOC I built for the ISCC (International System Creativity Contest on 1000steine.de) which was announced for spring 2009 (!). This contest never took place, so for almost a year the MOC gathered dust and I even forgot the story coming along with it. Anyway, finally I managed to publish it.
It is the old Guild Hall of Dortmund (which happens to be my hometown), built sometime before the year 1250, and until 1955 it was the oldest city hall in Germany that was completely built of stone. Then its ruins were tore down after the building had suffered severe damage in World War 2. In my version Borrhos, the red wizard, took over power of the city. As can be seen by clicking the picture:



A MOC within the MOC is the travelling hawker. In Dortmund many grocery stores are run by Turks, so it felt fitting to have one in this MOC, too:
