My 1st Castle MOC

Post by gearhead1968 »

This is my first attempt of a castle MOC. It is a simple design, but still took a while to build. Hopefully the link below works:

Very nice castle! I like the size and detail, and I see you used your worktable. I also like the multiple lines of defense, and the usage of BURPs is great. Keep up the good work!

This is a good first MOC. Indeed, it is one of the better utilizations of the prefabricated castle wall piece in my opinion. If I had any criticism to level at it, it's t hat the old grey castle wall pieces really stand out with the bley ones. They're just too "yellow."

Nice work anyway.

Thanks! I would not disagree with your assessment, those yellowed pieces drive me crazy. As I find better ones, I will replace those. I just used what I had. Now it is time to put my armies togehter

This is an great start! i really like the size and well buildt walls. :) If you now add some troops, archers etc. and some vegetation and such this would become an most fatastic moc! so all i say is keep on building! :D
Also do you have interior pics? the large hall in the back looks well buildt and i would like to see more.

First Castle? You're pulling my leg. The castle is not only big but detailed enough to warrant you an "at a boy!".
Kudos to you and best of luck in the future ones. :)

This looks really nice, even if it's mostly prefab pieces. Like CastleLord said, if you add some figs and landscaping this would look great.

If you had some dark bley 1x3 arch pieces I’d suggest taking a few of the prefab pieces out and building them with both light bley and dark bley bricks to avoid the big grey wall syndrome and make the dark bley 1x2s you’ve added look less uniform and more random like stone.
