FACTION OVERSEER ELECTION THREAD

This thread is for the election of a Faction Overseer for Lenfald. To keep the threads organized, please only post in your own faction's thread. For general discussion, use the General Discussion thread.

FACTION OVERSEER (FO)
An FO is basically a faction administrator. FOs will get together periodically to discuss game development and host global contests through which the storyline is progressed. Working with their fellow FOs ensures that a cohesive vision is implemented in the development of the project. Individually, FOs host regional contests of their own choosing. Other members of the faction may also host contests or challenges with permission from the FO.

Being an FO involves a lot of work and will take a lot of your time - make sure you know what you are getting into before applying to be an FO!

FACTION LIAISON (FL)
A Faction Liaison is an assistant to the FO. Faction Overseers can task their FLs with keeping track of scoring, hosting a challenge, or other related tasks. The Faction Liaison is chosen by the Faction Overseer.

ELECTION PROCESS
If you want to be an FO, post your candidature in this thread. Debate, discuss and vote your way to an FO. Try to reach a decision by Thursday 8.

It may be that everyone here is too modest to nominate themselves, so I'm going to suggest that someone lead off by nominating whoever you'd like to see as your FO, and if they agree to it, start voting from there.

First off, I know this is absolutely the wrong place to post this, but I feared it would not get any attention at all if just stuffed away in the general discussion. Move it if you see fit. This is just an idea that I'm throwing out, and take it or leave it as you will. But maybe, if it ends up completely impossible to find an administrational leadership for Lenfald, some kind of "democratic organisation", where the members contribute to the usual tasks of an FO and FL, could be considered, at least until an FO is found. What I'm thinking here is, that one lenfel could count up on people's personal points, some others could make up contest, and others yet again judge these.
The point I'm trying to make is, that everybody in Lenfald may feel they've got too much to do apart from LCC, and wouldn't be able to eficiently run a province with nothing but a second-in-command to help them. That is, at least, how I feel.
I see that a system like this would probably take a lot of reworking and consideration before it could be applied succesfully, and would also require of many members of the province to be reliable, often present, and willing to contribute actively to the administrative work that's required to keep the faction rolling. As said, it's just a suggestion, but it may wind up necesary to find an alternative to the normal system here.

If we are to try and stick to the conventional system, I'd like to nominate Teherean. He's been part of this project from the very beginning, is a member of the King's Council, and I think he'd make a good FO for Lenfald.

I think that might actually be a good idea. I didn't nominate myself because I can't promiss that I will be present everyday and I don't want to be unreliable. But if you have a couple of people doing the same task covering for eachother it might be possible for someone to 'take some time of'. But we'll see

Let's try to figure out a way to do it conventionally first. Teherean and Koffiemoc are the current nominees. Let's see if either of them are interested in the position. Spreading it out over several people will make things a lot more complicated, because there is no way for person #2 to edit person #1's posts to add new info or keep things updated. One person who controls the first post of the thread is the cleanest, easiest way to keep track of information.

Lots of posts ago I said I wouldn't apply for FO. Seeing that no-one has nominated himself yet and Elderon nominated me (thanks for having so much faith in me ), I change this to: I'll be prepared to act as an FO only if no-one else is willing.

If Teherean would take the job, or anyone else, I'd be happy. I joined LCC to be challenged to build more and better mocs, and I'm not exactly eagerly waiting for lots of extra work next to that. But I realize someone within Lenfald has to take the job, it would be quite a situation if the biggest(!) faction has no Overseer. It would be ridiculous and very impractible.

So please, fellow Lenfels, my dear candidate-FO's: thread forward!

I'd be honored to take the position of FO for the great faction of Lenfald! However, (especially in the coming few weeks) real life will be bogging me down like there's no tomorrow. I'd love to be FO, but the timing's just off.

Maybe it's an idea to give my duties as FO to my liaison for the time being, but if you guys would like someone who will be here right from the start, I am unfortunately not your guy. Let me know what you think. If the honorable people of Lenfald are okay with me not being available often enough for a week or two, I'm game.

We'd love to have you! I don't mind that you'll be gone from time to time. Maybe koffiemoc could take care of the opening stuff, then you could take over. You could copy and paste his post into one of your own so that you'd be able to update it. We could delete his original post.

I don't mind at all actually. And since I saw what Koffiemoc said about him not really wanting that much responsibility and just wanting to build I think I'll vote for you. No offence Koffiemoc, but I didn't really look in to the players and I think that Teherean would make a better FO. I would also like to nominate myself for FL and aid Teherean in the first two weeks or so. Since I already finished my first MOC's I think I could spend a little more time on the forum instead of on my building table. And it would also be nice if some other Lenfel joined in here... Holy melon farmer where is everybody?

As far as chosing a Liaison is concerned, I would probably contact the people I had in mind personally and have them write something of an application for me. I want to give everyone, new or long standing member, an equal chance. That's just how I work.

I didn't mean to push myself towards being FL, I just didn't know where to put it otherwise... And ofcourse when you're chosen as a FO you choose your own FL, seems nothing more than logical to me Good luck with everything else!

Reading the posts before me I vote for Teherean. I'm going to need my free time for building since I do not have much of that lately (busy working) unfortunately.
