Emmet was alone the day the Queen's troops came to take him away. An outspoken champion of Lenfel independence, he was amongst the first to be rounded up and imprisoned. His only solace was that his beloved was not home that day. He had tried to hold back the tears as the red and black-clad soldiers struck and beat him, safe in the knowledge that she was still free. In his darkest hours, he would let his mind's eye dissolve the walls of his prison and drift back to their first meeting, besides the creek in the woods where the flowers were in bloom and, for that moment, everything seemed perfect. One day, he swore, one day, he would see her again.
