Just how much?

Just how much is Lego Castle a part of your life? I know that we all like it, we wouldn't be here if we didn't, but how much do you like it?

I would say that it has half my attention with Lego.

I build, therefore I am.

I hardly ever do anything with it.

Then again, I'm not part of the usual Classic Castle crowd.

Option number one, "My whole life". That's not to say that I do not like the other themes, I mean Pirates were cool, the Titan XP is neat, Starwars is fun..... However I never build or play with other themes. I buy sets with parts for castles in mind. I have a few stormtroopers kicking around just because I think they are cool (Darth Vader too). Everything else is assimilated into castle. I, ofcourse would like to see a return to the classic styles, old greys and if it's not asking too much, Legends on par with BFF and GI..... Since 1978 Castle LEGO has been it for me.

I buy most sets with Castle in mind, but I also like the Pirates and Star Wars sets. I have been thinking about doing a MOC of an old castle taken over and partially remodelled by the Empire.

About half of my Lego interest is the closest option. Two-thirds/three-fourths would probably be closer. I also have some Town, Space, and Adventurers standing, but Castle stands supreme.

I'm like Formendacil. I build mostly castle, but in other themes as well. Plus I tend to more often buy in other themes but with an eye towards what elements might be useful for castle.

I think that building in one theme only leads to stagnation. Different themes require different types of building, but this can be inspirational for you main theme. E.g. castle tends to use a lot less SNOT than space or trains, but if you pay attention to those other themes it gives you ideas of ways to use SNOT in a castle setting. Or the crossover between mechas and Anthony's dragons. Etc. Also, when I'm building in castle I'm pretty focused on my big projects. It's nice sometimes to just build a quick little MOC in a theme you're not going to focus a lot of time on, just as a break--e.g. my memorials to Janet Leigh and Rodney Dangerfield posted over the last couple of days. At the same time I've been working on a larger project in castle, but that won't be ready for unveiling for weeks. It's nice to put together these quick things for a feeling of accomplishment and also to share with others.

Well said, Bruce!

Like you, my primary interest is in Castle, but I also dabble in other themes too. And set purchases are always done with castle in mind.

Over the past few days, I've been working on a building intended for space and I am undergoing a crash course in SNOT + greebling! :)

I love Lego Castle because...

It has 80% of the parts I use for my own Ancients Theme!!!

But seriously I would not have gotten into Ancients had I not taken interest in Lego Castle first. I was a Space, Town, and Pirate fan once before converting to Lego Castle. *shudders*

You're missing an option: "I hate LEGO Castle"
Man, do I hate castle. I hate it so much that I'm going to go burn all of my castle figs. I'm going to go melt all of my castle accessories (because I hate them) and mold them into space weapons... and hopefully they're compatible with Megabloks.

I voted that I only like it when I'm in the mood. I'll get on little kicks where I'll build nothing but spaceships because anything else just isn't fun for me. Sometimes I won't feel like building anything at all, so the LEGO will get put away for several months at a time. Castle has always been my favorite though (even though I may forget it when I'm in the mood for space), and I've been on a castle building spree since late February/early March (not coincidentily, that was when I found C-C), and there's not sign of it stopping.

It shares with space, and some town, mostly. Currently I've been doing a bit more castle stuff, but hopefully I'll get onto some space stuff soon!

Well, I would assume that if you're a member here, you like Castle to a certain extent, even if it isn't your primary Lego focus.

I mean, come on: can anyone point out a single user here who HATES Castle, totally and completely? Sure, some of us don't like all things about it, but we don't HATE EVERYTHING.

Believe it or not, LEGO Space was my whole life....until CC.com was launched.

Technically LEGO Castle isn't my whole life, LEGO Castle Gaming is! :D

Well, I do write some stories that has nothing to do with LEGO, but that's it...

heck..social life is for loosers anyway...

After building castle for a year or two, I start to be attracted to other themes. When I first got the 'net, I would gaze on all the lovely castles. But now I build castles, and know how all the interesting things work, and so they lost their allure. Now I look on spaceships and pirate ships and think: Wow. I could never build that..., and so other themes are distracting me.... <sigh>
