Forum Upgrade 2023 Issues

What happened

In early 2023, the forum's server was upgraded. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the forum was not able to work with these upgrades. Then there was an attempt to upgrade the server, which failed. Finally another upgrade was attempted and that succeeded.

Thank you for your patience while we were getting everything up and running.

Lingering Issues

It would appear links/images in posts and signatures did not survive the upgrade. You'll have to re-edit your signature, and possibly change nothing, but save it to get links/images back. I'm looking into automatically fixing all the all the posts.

That is all I know about so far, but post below if you are having any other issues.

Nice to see the forum problems got resolved.

Although, I see various old image links that do work but are no longer embedded on the forum, when I look at editing a post, and press preview, the images do appear again, but when I press submit it doesn't show the image.

I've got 2 things to try to fix the 'existing' image/link problems (other than editing and re-saving). I wasn't aware of the 'new' image issue - I'll see if I can figure that out.

I tried to edit it, when I press preview, the image loads, and then I press submit and the image does not show up.

The preview does show those properly, hitting submit...

Edit: that appeared to work. But since I couldn't edit your post, maybe something goofy was going on there that I am not seeing (I did have to manually fix the image URL, again, since I don't know what it shows when you click edit).

Weird, removing one character "]" and adding it again before submit, fixes the image.
