Using Bionicles as Monsters\Dragons

Post by Unknown Knight »

Not sure where this goes. Did I get it right?

What do you think about using Bionicle creatures as monsters/dragons?

If so which ones do you use?

Which ones do you think are best?

Ok, end of questions :) . Personally I think the bahrag, bohrok, Alex P's Troll on Moc pages, and the original Onua are some really good monsters/dragons. I have used the Bahrag as dragons (their jaws are sized just right to hold a knight :D ). I thinks Anthony Sava has used a customized Onua in his stories.

What I really like to use is slightly customized copy of Alex P's Bionicle troll on Moc pages (I don't know how to post links  ). I purposely went out and bought five of the sets needed JUST so I could build his model (I was so impressed with it!)! I also wanted to leave it together. That troll still stands on my desk (all pieces intact; never robbed of a piece yet). Could somebody please post a link to the troll, I be grateful :) ? (You go to the Moc pages main page and go to the Bionicle catergory and scroll all the way down to troll)

Sorry for the extreeeemmmeeelllyyyy long post.

Well I think that the Rahkski (I think that is how it is spelt, need to refresh my Bionicle memory) make pretty dang good Balrogs. If you give them a firey whip and wings some how.

I think the original Onua made a great "drilling machine gone haywire", but for monsters in general, Alex and I just make our own. Alex more than I.
I will probably stick with brick built beasts, even though Bionicle beasts move better.:D

The general shapes of the Bionicles are pretty cool, but I have a problem with the fact that they are molded to look mechanical. I have pieced together a couple to make a big demon type thing though.

I like Binoincle(I did at least) and have a lot of them. I use their pieces for beasts but not the original creations. The Bionicles come with lots of usefull parts, though I prefer Brick Built Beasts I sometimes build Beasts with technic and Bionicle pieces.

I generally don't think of my Bionicles as Castle-related, but whenever I have an enormous battle with 100 to 1 odds against the good guys, I pull out a bunch of "trolls" and "dragons" and "balrog-type creatures" just to get those odds in place.

Then proceed to have a handful of good guys beat the snot out of them.

I tend to like the Rahi best (most of them anyway), followed by the Rahkshi, the Bohrok, and then the Toa/Toa Nuva, and then the Turaga. I don't have any of the Metru Nuian stuff.

I've never tried, but none of the Bionicle sets are really good for dragons. But Muaka would be a good giant tiger to fight i guess.

Mike Crowley has used Bionicle pieces to great effect in building MOC beasts. See http://www.countblockula.com/

I also think that the creature that comes with the golden toa metru would make a cool monster.

Just a random thought (or maybe not so random) :D .

Hello!

The Bionicles have too many gaps in their bodies. That simply doesn't look natural to me. I'm sure you can use certain Bionicle-specific parts to create good monsters, but as a whole a Bionicle figure wouldn't be a satisfying addition to Castle.
Or: For playing it would be OK since it's just in your imagination and you are free to imagine whatever comes to your mind. For displays, though, Bionicles are unsuitable.

True, Jojo. And I would certainly never use them in display. For display purposes, 2-to-1 or 3-to-1 odds are sufficiently menacing.

In play though, 150 baddies never lasts long when confronted by 50 goodies. I mean, come on!, that's only three each! :D

On the other hand, I quite like using Bionicles as monsers. They look suitably different compared to Lego knights.

Some of the new Bionicals make some good Dreadlords for my Warcraft battles.

Personally I just use the bionicles the way they are.
Also check out the Kingdom of Ikros, there were 1 0r 2 bionicle monsters somewhere in there.

I agree with some of you, i used to make plenty of monsters out of bionicles, but that was because that was what my brother was buying at the time. Not that it didn't work, but that is that. I had a really great dark bird, and a couple raptors, but then i fell out of sorts with bionicles.

Here is one of my creations, that I made... i know the color scheme is wide, and it's overly large, but in the context that i was using it in.... a GOD.... it fit... let me tell you, it certainly spiced up my lego battle games....

Hope this helps... somehow, i'm not sure it will, but you know
