My Keep - 1st draft

Post by bannear »

Happy Easter to all,
I have some pics of my Keep with the outer walls almost complete - all but the 45 degree joiners for the red tower and some of the landscaping. If you notice anything really wierd it may be something my son added that I didn't notice yet ... :o
I added the temple (tan structure) last night.
I am not sure where the giant girl came from but since she is watering the flowers ...
The whole thing is modular except for the main keep. I tried to follow the CCC standard but couldn't fit everything into the center of the plates and on the table - so compromise ...

Please let me know what you think.

Cheers.

I can't wait to see the gallery. This is cool, but how does the gate open?

Very nice and interesting castle. The temple is very nice and a good idea to include. One minor comment. In my view it would have looked nicer if the black brick on the left gate tower was grey like the rest. Is it intentionally black or a question of running out of bricks?
Best regards, Infyrana

Henry,
the gate is set using two jet engines (http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3475b) for hinges with a spiral stair top (http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/2476) for the upper hinge and a plate with pin (http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/2460) for the bottom.
I will try and add some pics of the back of the door but it is pretty ugly right now - needs some more plates to even it out.

Inyrana,
Yes I did run out of grey wall pieces, but had intentionally decided to do the corner in black to offset the grey - I was really happy how the corner worked out with the tower tops and small house at 45 degrees to the actual bumps, but it doe show up dark. I will have to develop an appropriate story line to explain it.

Cheers

I really like this castle... I'd love to see some more close-ups of the temple-looking builing in the center, and also the tan building too... You have some cool things going on too, and I like the "archers" weapons. The black corner is a bit different, and at first I didn't really like it... but it's not bad... and if there was a good story behind it, it would just give the castle more character~
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar
1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.
