Lady of the Dark Forest

Post by Fry_slayer »

Well, female figures in castle theme are rare, rarer are memorable ones. In the light of this I do my bit to balance up the ying yang aspects... i bring you the lady of dark forest.

Image
Black leather gloves holding deadly bow shows she mean business, eyes glaring with fire for the riches

Image
Gem in one hand, blade on the other, eyes still look out for potential plunder.

Image
Being a rare woman of her times she is definately better equiped than her common male counterparts... but if u look carefully actually she was a Hogwart dropout

Hey, Fry Slayer,

The torso looks quite cool, though I'm not sure I like the little shoulder-cape thing. It just looks...odd, I guess. :?

Still, it's nice to see more females flesh out all these male-dominated themes. :)

Hey, Nathan,

Yes..we need more ladies around, in both LEGO and forum wise
Actually that piece of "small cape" is something of a cross between shoulder guard (inspired by SW's sand tropper) and my attempt to create forestman's motive in cape form. It turned up looking "sissy" and was on the "failed proto type" cabinet for some time.

The "kinkyness" however, does not bother our dear lady here :P i thought for a while before finally decided to show it here

Looks good :) the shoulder thing does look a bit odd, but not that bad.
What set does that face come in?

I really like that torso... and for some reason I never thought of using a hood with forsetmen (or wolves for that matter  )... great idea... gracias for the torso too.

Awesome minifig!

I really like the torso sticker, although, I might like it even more if it wasn't off the shoulder.

One other suggestion, try making the blank space around the hips black instead of white.

Great work!

Looking good Fry_Slayer,

I told you custom torso stickers would look great. :D

I like the off the shoulder look of the torso and the smaller cape. I think it would look better if it was about a 1/4 inch longer though, less of a pauldron and more of a half cape.

Excellent work though, I am looking forward to seeing more from you.

I really like the torso Wong. The half cape reminded me of the orange Stormtrooper thing right away. With the hood and the off the shoulder torso it is fitting. Great presentation with that face, it really completes the minifig. Nice job. BTW, get my email?

Very nice. She looks like she means business, but at the same time retains her femeninty(sp?). You have talent, my good fellow. :)

Thanks for the compliments guys. Actually in all my work i try to explore the possibility of further enhancing the golden legacy TLC left behind while maintaining the spirit and thus the constant pursuit of authenticity. I fell like trying to remind them the possiblities they left behind, infact if i can have it my way i would rather let TLC produce these themselves, since they are not i am helping myself up.
gracias for the torso
No problem, have two more?
One other suggestion, try making the blank space around the hips black instead of white.
Erm, tried that but doesnot feels right unless she wears a black cloak, tradition has it the space is left white.
less of a pauldron and more of a half cape.
Thanks Will, half cape huh? hmm...more possiblities
get my email?
Mail returned

Very nice designs. Finally a forestwoman that doesn't look... odd. ((Come on... the only one that existed was pretty ugly, since she was a pirate face after all hehe)). So Nice work.

I like the little black cape. Hoods + Quiver = True Forestmen. Hehe. Nice work, look forward to what else you come up with.

I like that you didn't make this female as outrageously skiny as many others out there. One comment on the fig herself: if she'a actually an archer, she's going to put cloth on her left arm so that if she gets hit with the string, it doesn't hurt as much. I should know, I got hit with the string on my bare arm once.
Then again, maybe leaving her arm bare is supposed to be a sign that she's so good she never hits her arm? Must be a pretty arrogant woman.

How about doing stickers for the back, as well?

Edit: Yay! My 100th post.

She's hot!

Seriously though, I like the designs. I wish Lego would make more female characters from the sets.
