Musicland by Brickbaron

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

In looking for drum set ideas for another thread, I ran across this amazing/bizarre/wonderful layout, Musicland theme park by Brickbaron.

Does anyone know anything more about this? Anyway, check it out.

Apparently the builder's first name is Paul. A LUGNET post by the builder's friend, Nathan Proudlove, provides a little information about him.

The Musicland theme park has an interesting combination of min-fig scale details and larger-scale sculpture. I was very impressed with the variety, creativity, and detail of all of Brickbaron's MOCs.

Paul's a member of Brickville. He built that display for public shows. Some of Paul's other notable large MOCs include his Union Train Station and this Wild West layout (the latter is done in "LEGOLAND" scale).

Like Leah said, Paul's a really talented builder and he often uses pieces in unique ways. To him, no piece is useless!

Yeah go check out his gallery - lots of stuff to draw inspiration from!

Does anyone know what the head on that stand-up bass is made from?

For those of us who aren't as music lingo savy, can you be more specific? Maybe include a link to a picture that shows the object in question?

The instrument on the left, shaped like a big guitar. I'm trying to find out what the top piece is. <>--o <- this piece.

Hmm. Looking at that pic, I just can't tell. I'm almost inclined to think it's just a bit of photo trickery and there is nothing at the top of that, but rather it's something behind. I'm probably wrong though.

On the Brickville site, there is contact info for Paul Hetherington, he could probably answer best.

It looks like a normal rod with a 1x1 upward clip attached to it.

I agree with eNIGMa. It looks like a combination of:
2 of these sign things: Image

a bar: Image

and a 1x1 with clip: Image

all in brown. The bar might be something longer like a spear or something.

I can't help but think that the bar is actually this:

It would make sense; the bass is a bigger instrument. But either one would work, I guess.
