Finally back to building

Post by DaveOhare01 »

SO,

After 2 years of buying Lego, I am ready to start the next project. Here is the lowest level of the first section, The Dragons Cave. It's built on 2x2 green baseplates and is 16 bricks high or so.

The entire project will be 8x8 baseplates and will take 3-4 months to complete.

Comments? :)

Dave

Good start, but I should remind you of something. Black is a color that is hard to photograph. I had a few difficulties before so if you gray pieces, why not use them? :) I hope the comment is constructive. Other then that, I love the dragon standing on all the treasure. Keep it up!

Looking great. Nice rocks reminds me of that HUGE castle from brickfest that Bruce posted pictures of.

The dragon is really nesting all that treasure.
Can't wait to see more.

Hey Dave,

You do revel in hard-to-photograph MOCs, don't you? ;P I really like how you did the rough walls, and that's an impressive hoarde the dragon has accumulated. I look forward to more of this.

Wow. Ditto on everything everone else said, but I do like the black on the inside of the cave. It really brings the "darkness" to life. Keep us posted!

Thanks!

Thanks all! Indeed -- I, ahem, over did it on on the black on the last castle. This time around, however, the actual castle itself will be classic gray, with dark gray highlights and black roofs. The hillside around the entire thing will be mostly dark gray.

Should be pretty fun to build, though! I am planning all inlayed floors as well as ceilings (think original Sistene chapel).

The next section, starting tonight, is an underground dock, large enough for a boat based on one of the pirate ship hulls to get in there. After that...hard to say!

Nice looking rocky cliffs. Reminds me of those from that HUGE castle in BrickFest05.
