We already have a Spongebob; we just call it "two 1x2 bricks." Still, I'm interested in seeing how the figs turn out.

I'll mostly be interested in the Avatar sets, though. I've only seen maybe three of the episodes, but from what I've seen, there should be some useful torso designs (hopefully).

The Avatar line would be cool, but Spongebob? How would they make the characters, brickbuilt or new molds?

Hey, if it gets LEGO out of the red and into the black, I'm all for it, whatever it is.

Unlike some folks around here, no one forces me to buy the sets LEGO creates, so it doesn't hurt me any.

Hello!

Same her. Same goes for Bionicle and other stuff I don't like. If they make profit from it and survive: Thumbs up.

Unfortunatelly I'm not too optimistic that any new licences will get them out of the red. Previous licences certainly did not, even though Harry Potter and Star Wars without doubt sell very well. Batman will attract lots of people, maybe more people than are attracted by Spiderman. We will see.

In any case every new licence cuts off LEGO's own creativity and their own distinctive profile. LEGO more and more turns into yet another licenced-toys-seller.

Oh my, this is getting annoying. :?

Anyways, what is "avatar" anyways? If its anime I may see some use for it... Unfortunatly I may be the only one... :(

I like the avatar show. And try to think of this from lego's point of view. Is their target market a bunch of 20+ y.o. guys or a bunch of 6-11 y.o. ?

My thought also excatly, not to mention the unique pieces which might be potentially useful, sponge elemental, anyone?

Anything to beat back Megabloks:
"Victory requires no explaination, defeat allows non"

Ok, that may sounds extreme a bit, but then again...

Ditto in the strongest sense of the word. Batman is one thing, but SpongeBob almost makes to you want to crawl in a hole until the whole mess is over (I'm guessing three months). I've seen about as much as I can handle of that show, all five minutes that I've seen. Creepy. I'm also not seeing how this is going to pull LEGO into the black.

What is Avatar anyway?

Ditto here. I know a few wierdos who would like Spongebob Legos. (Ugh) My only concern is that Lego will run out of money to produce better things like Castle Factory. Can you imagine a full replication of Bikini beach? Ugh! No way am I going to be tempted to even look at the sets.
