Key scene from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

I won't ruin the book by describing what's going on here, but if you've read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, you'll immediately recognize a key scene in Infuri by pedrocon:

I have no idea what's going on, but it looks really cool.
I really like the fire sword (?) thing.

Zombies? Fire? Tar pit? I have not read any of the Harry Potter books, but I saw this MOC on brickshelf and thought it looked pretty nice.

Too bad the folder didn't have anything else in it.

A pretty good MOC of one the the worst (IMHO) scenes in the Half-Blood Prince.

Hummm.... Dumbledore and Harry sure look strange.
And it's Inferi, not Infuri. Seems JK got many words inspired from here, when she was writting in the Moulin Rouge café(in my city, here, in the end of the world, in the country Portugal, in the city of O'Porto  )

I have not read the book, but it seems obvious.

Some wizard dude fights zombies in a tar pit, presumably in a swamp.

Really awesome scene, great landscaping, the tar seems realistic enough. :)

First off, I just want to tell all those who have not read the book. It's not tar. It's an island.

Pretty good. I love the fire on Dumbly's wand. I must say that I am kinda surprised that the guy didn't use the offical face for Dumbly. Probably didn't have it. The basin looks really neat as well.

Er... Should whoever made this MOC happen to read this, I suggest getting rid of the cave wall section. And giving Dumbledore his beard. I like the Inferi, though. (That should really be "Inferii," for the record, but...)

Anyway, for those who haven't read the book, Harry and Dumbledore are on the an island in the center of a black lake (inside a cave) swarming with Inferi. The section of the cave wall makes it look like a swamp, but it isn't.

I remember this part of the book - I was very suprised by how suddenly the book became dark and serious as HP and Dumbledore were in the cave...

I actually liked this scene, and I'd say it's not a bad remake at all. The two best parts, in my mind, are the Inferii coming out of the clamy black water (I like how he has them in different stages of emerging) and the fire on Dumbledores staff... I've seen this kind of thing done a lot with the flame piece, but I've never taken the time to figure out how you guys do it.

I do think the Dumbledore head would have been better, and instead of a brown rock wall, maybe the grey pieces... or even black. If I remember correctly, it was pretty black in that cave... the brown might add a bit too much color.

Still - a great MOC - and a good idea to put this scene in LEGO.

Bruce is the one to go for for any MOC of anyones that you thought you saw. He often posts clever MOC's of people not on the forum for us to Ohhh and Ahhh over.

On topic, I think the best part of this is the 'symmetrical' or circular base. The scene itself, while showing a lot of action, is rather nondescript in my opinion, though the colors are all good together.
