Black Falcon's Watchtower - CCCIII entry.

Post by Skudmunky »

Delurking for the 3rd CCC. :)

It's a small watchtower, built onto a rock near the ocean. It has all the aspects of a nice playset, including but not limited to: Trapdoor to a secret entrance, landscaping, spiral staircase, fireplaces, wandering minstrel, and 2 black falcon knights. Toss in the quintissential tree on the side of the castle, some cool window details, and the bay window I came up with, shake well and chill for 30 minutes, and you come up with this:

and the larger gallery, when public:

also have this little guy, my entry into the custom fig section.

Share and enjoy!

This looks good. The bay window is nice touch and I like all the secret doors and traps, etc. And I also like your ministrel a lot. That is quite clever, using an oval shield for his instrument.

PS. I did, however, notice some problems contest-wise. I don't think you can have your custom fig in the pictures. And I think your thumbnail has to be a smaller version of one of your other pics, not another picture all together. Just wanted to let you know, as I would hate to see a good MOC like this disqualified...
AFOL and his money are easily parted.

the thumbnail isn't a separate picture, it's just a cropped version of the first picture.

I should probably change it though.

What would be the problem with having the custom fig in the same set of pictures? Well, time to go peruse the rules again.

:edit: It was accepted into the contest, its in the entries page, so it looks like its good.

Yes, I just saw that. Cool, glad to see it. You have a nice MOC there. :)

The reason that I said that the custom fig might be a problem is because of this quote in the Contest thread:
SavaTheAggie wrote: Non-LEGO elements are only allowed in categories labeled 'custom', wherein parts are viable for editing (cutting, painting, etc.), thus creating non-LEGO elements anyway.

All other categories must contain only official LEGO elements.
But since it is listed in the entries, then it must be allowed.
