Holy Cow!

Thats an awesome castle! Welcome to CC I love the details on it. It definitely has a fantasy feel to it, considering there is a face on one wall and a big giant bird of prey attacking it. :D
I like the entrance way and the tower and spires. those are great.

Sweetness dude.

That is one amazing castle. Perhaps not as "historically accurate" as some, but hey, fantasy is just as cool. I love how you used so many large pieces on it and still turned out an amazing piece of art. Great to have you join us, hope to see lots more of your stuff.

That castle really makes me think of the Castle in Beauty and the Beast- a Disney movie, to be sure, but their very best, and a gorgeous castle.

This castle looks, simulataneously, defendable and fantasy-esque, a rare and valuable combination. The colour scheme is relatively unusual, and the design is awesome. I love the high-up bridge between towers!

Excellent, excellent job! :D

Thanks for all the replies and the kind words ..
Always good to get some recognition...

First let me add i built it together with a friend of mine, she had many great idea's but didn't have the techniques, so she thought of many details you can see.

Building together did create some arguments from time to time, but we managed to compromize most of the times  The cool thing is it would have turned out much more boring without her, she had a more decorative style of building while i had a more rough and sturdy way.

We worked on it for ..hmm... 22 hours together and i finished the last floors in another 5 hours.

This reminds me of the big castles that the master builders built back in the 80s, I really like it. Your architecture is just fantastic. Got any figs to man those towers?

Thanks.. Do you happen to have pictures of one/some of those ? Makes me wonder.. I did grow up in the 80's, so that might explain it :D

I do .. since the roofings are blue, i had to make it a Black Falcons castle. I had some on there during the built, but i removed them again, cause they made the castle look so small and out of proportion. This one wasn't built to house minifigs. My next one will be though. Also, unfortunately all my minifigs and weapons are currently stored in a bag, waiting to be arranged and sorted again. Plan to make armies together with my younger brother with them soon :D

:P .. Thats purely coincidence  .. As a matter of fact i suck at building faces/brickbuilt beasts

This is a nice start indeed. Maybe not historically correct in construction, but this is ample compensated by great fantasy and many details. The style and proportions are typical for a fantasy-castle. I specially like the verticality in this building. And the use of unusual colours. It reminds me of some great stories written by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Thanks for sharing and I hope to see your edifice in real soon.
Keep on building.

Great looking Castle. It has a Mordor-ish feel to it.

This looks great! The architecture gives it a wonderful fantasy feel, while the tall towers give it a dark, mysterious mood. Great work, I look forward to your next creation!

There's pics of an old Toys R Us store display found in a basement somewhere, and checkout architect's scan from an old brick kicks.
