The mystery of the Neck-Protector

Hey everybody

Lately I've been studying the Neck-Protector helm:

And when I search for it on Bricklink it showed it in dark red, so I clicked on it (because the image wasn't avalable) and a picture of a green one came up.
This is fair enough, but Im curious as to what sets are the dark red and green neck-protector helms in, and can someone tell me the value of these coloured helms?

I've tried Peeron but they only show it in OldDarkGrey and Black.
In the images on Peeron, it also looks like the one in the pic is a light gray colour. Maybe this is just the lighting used, but can someone tell me all the clours this helm was in, and the values of them each.

Actually, it doesnt have much of a neck-protector I think, since the neck is completely visible, I guess different words for different sites, I call it Flare Helm, I guess I got the term from when I saw Two-Tonic use it at first.

My knowledge:
Light Grey (Classic)
Dark Grey
Black
Green (Bricklink rarity)
Dark Red (Upcoming Avatar sets)

I got myself some light grey ones, so its no trick for the eye.

Here is the scoop on the green ones. Chad (CAI) wrote to the owner and this was the reply:

These helms are authentic. Green as grass... Smile
Years ago one of the Legoland parks had a bunch made for a project I build.
The helms at BL are leftovers I found last summer. About 23 years old,
but mint and still shiny.
Quite rare indeed.

Red ones are going for about 80 cents and the green ones are priced at 15 bucks.
