If money wasn't a limitation, what would you build with Lego?

Post by BDuncan »

If money (and possibly time) wasn't a limitation and you had free access to any and as many Lego sets or pieces as you wished, what things would you most want to build and please briefly elaborate on why you'd want to.

A 1:1 scale model of the Universe, and everything therein. :P

Could you be a little more specific? Like narrowing down your question to official LEGO themes (or non-themes)?

Ohhh... I would complete building my entire ORIGIN theme and story.

If money won't be a problem... then I could perhaps BUY myself several squaremiles of land and have a building constructed so large it would make the Pentagon look like an outhouse by comparison. That would be how large the building would be to house all my wonderfully gigantic MOCs.

I would make a lego scale Middle Earth! Its like always been one of my dreams to do that. Another thing I would do is make the Jedi temple from Star wars. Just because one of my favorite scenes in the entire series is when anikin is marching into the temple with all the clones behind him.

I would build a 640x640 castle town.... with a 640x320 addition with a keep....
100+ houses (fully detailed too!)
1000+ town figures
200+ stall market place
500+ Castle guards
50+ studs high rock slop all the way around the town with ocean next to it.
the castle's highest tower over 90 studs up...

Yeah. That was a little too extreme.

A 1:24 Slot Car Race track, everything made out of LEGO. Heck with all the mindstorms stuff, that has to be possible by now right?

I would make a minifig scale Minis Tirith, and the surrounding lands, plus buy a whole pock-load of orcs from Amanda, and then have the huge battle.

My very first thought! I would also like to build a 1:1 Orthanc, and Hobbiton.

I would also probably build a MOC-up (hehe, get it?) of my hometown (it's small enough I could do it!). I would have to probably build several different castle that I like, and many of the landmarks from Warrenton VA (where my Mom's side of the family hails from).

I could go on and on, but those are several of my dreams since I was a kid.

Ah, so we delve into the area of wishful thinking. :)

I would build a large forestmen village made up of around 200-300 forestmen. It would include a barracks, archery range, several towers, lots of treehouses, creeks, a little mountain, and plenty of traps! It would really show what life for an everyday forester was like. Afterall, Robin Hood had thousands of troops at his peak, and they all can't live in towns. So, it'd explore how the economy worked for the forestmen.

Besides a minifig scale Minas Tirith, I'd also like to make a minfig scale Osgiliath, along with Helms Deep, and Edoras with Theoden's hall.

I'd also like to make an actual minfig scale Batcave, with huge chasms, waterfalls, and the battank. Wait..battank? In all my days in the Batman mythology, I ain't never heard of no battank. But seriously, a minifig scale Batcave would be tremendous.

I guess the only other thing I'd like to build would be my own house, as it's over 100 years old, and it would be really challenging, even with all the pieces in the world. Okay, maybe not that bad.

Since I´m in a Batman mood right now I´d say a minifig scale Batcave and Wayne Manor and probably parts of Gotham City (most importantly the Future Park where the Joker lives in The Mask of the Phantasm)

That aside some minifig scale Tolkien creatins like Tirion, Gondolin or Angband would of course be cool but I think the descriptions are far too abstract for me to dare start on such a project that would probably only end in the wrong way ;) But think about it... Gondolin... mmm....

Or maybe a recreation of Nirnaeth Arnoediad while I´m at this thing with Tolkien?

Also I´d build some really large ships for my Pirate theme and of course bigger and better MOCs for my story..

The possbilities would be quite endless... ;)

An entire castle world made of LEGO... grass, sea, mountains, castles, villages, farms... all of it... and it would be huge... taking up at least 30 square feet. 8)

1:1 scale Deathstar.

I don't think it really needs any explanation. 8)
