Looking for Small Amounts of Food

Post by Chuck06 »

I'm looking to acquire about half a dozen of each of the following different kinds of food:

Apples (all 3 colors)
Cherries (both colors)
Carrots (complete)
Turkey Legs
Bread Loaves
Bannanas
Hot dogs (both colors)

I know I can always order these from bricklink, but I thought I'd try here first. I have $ (my preference) but possibly some clone troppers to trade if the deal is sweet enough.

I would say it is a medium amount of food. Atleast most items are more common. He is not looking for cakes or complete turkeys (as I am).

Of course it would be easier to find these items in some colors vs others.

I didn't even know that there was such a variety of food. I think I will head over to bricklink or peeron and have a good look around at this food.

No wonder my minifigs look like they are about to revolt - they are not being fed.

Hmm, perhaps it's more food than I thought. Unfortunately, its quite expensive to buy even a modest quanitity of food. According to my bricklink calculation, it'll cost me about $40 (before shipping) just for 6 of each of the items listed above (72 items for that price is more than 50 cents a piece!). Oh well, I understand that these parts are rare and buying them together on bricklink is much better IMO than buying a vast number of Belleville sets. I wonder why lego never considered putting these items in more sets? (The Shell gas station a couple years ago had apples and bananas, and the Viking ship had turkey legs)

Actually they did have scala/belville minifig food packs on Shop at Home a few years ago. These were a nice way to get carrots and apples. Unfortunately LEGO is not selling a similar item currently.

Of course... Right when the Legends were out too, right?!
Right when I begin to think lego was getting dumber and decided not to buy again.......(aka Dark Age)...

Guess I came back to late.

I am not the person to look for for food pieces. Sorry! I would just say suck it up and do BL. I don't think many people here will trade, or if they were to, there would only be a few.

Good Luck!

There are now three colors of cherries, if you count the lime green ones used as Gary's eye stalks in the Sponge Bob sets.

However, the Minifig Surgeon General has issued a warning that green cherries may cause a loss of jaundice, increased growth of the nose, and other un-minifig-ly side effects.

If you can get that whole food request from a single store, you'll save more by paying $0.50 a piece, than paying for 3 to 6 different stores' shipping charges.

More on topic, I have more pink cherries than I'd probably ever use, but I doubt it's worth a sale.

I too have a bunch of extra red cherries, and actually a ton of other stuff, mostly minifig accessories, if you perhaps would want more than just food.

A good set for food is the HP Shrieking Shack. You get two apples, a cherry, a couple of popsicles and a chocolate bar. However, it is pretty costly, so I'd only recommend getting them if you'd use the rest of the set for parts.

I don't know if you stiil need these items or not, but I have a tip if you do:

Another website named findmybrick.com has a TON of food. Most of it sells for pretty cheap as well. Another good thing: They have lightning fast shipping! They're located in Sacramento, and I'm on the east coast- I get my stuff in two days flat! They are temporarily doing "maintinence" but when they re-open, it'll be party time!

I am not sure it is temporary. It says on the site that it will reopen on April 5th, and we're already past that. They do have some amazing looking capes, though.

Well yeah, we're past it, but in my experience, they are not always shall we say, on time. I'm pretty sure they'll open again.

It is a sweet site, and it's where I got all my special capes like the Slytherin one. It's normally on my sigfig, but I've been updating a little.
