Re: Night/Star Photography

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm bored at work :) And since this topic is still in the top few threads, I didn't think anybody would mind. What ISO setting were you using? If you go too high, the pictures will be too grainy. For what you're doing, 30 seconds may be too long too. Here's a couple ...

Re: Photo Tips (Was "This was probably covered before but..

I think flash is ok as long as you don't point it directly forward. That's hard to do if you have a point and shoot, but if you have an SLR with a separate flash, you can get good results. I took this one with the flash pointing upward towards the white ceiling. The light bounces off the ceiling and...

Re: Troll Mountain Fortress $64.99 Black Friday

I'm surprised it's making a comeback. I bought this along with the drawbridge and king's chariot sets earlier this year when they started disappearing without a clearance sale. I'm kinda mad that I paid full price ($100) at the time, but what can you do. I would definitely buy another one if I knew ...

Re: Your LEGO budget

In the past two years, since coming out of my dark ages, I've spent roughly $1800 on Lego. I've also sold enough Lego to make about $700 in profit so I guess my total is down to $1100. I don't have a budget per say, but my wife tells me we have too many and I have to stop buying sets. :) There are v...

Re: Polishing Lego Bricks

Looks great. How did the polishing work on the yellowed pieces? Are they any whiter? Another question: If you combine these restored pieces with unrestored/regular pieces, and build a wall, is there any differences in thickness or texture (that is noticeable) between the two types? My husband uses ...

Re: Collectible Minifigs trading thread

I have a complete sealed series 2 I'd want to trade for a complete series 1. I can also throw in an extra Pharaoh, Spartan, or something else. Let me know.

Re: Diagon Alley (10217)

I think this is the only HP set that I will pay full price on. I wasn't very impressed by the other sets. I think if it wasn't for the Harry Potter name, the new sets wouldn't do as well. Hogwarts Express for $80 or Emerald Night for $100. Now if I find them at 50% off, that's a different story :)

Polishing Lego Bricks

I've had a pile of used Lego that I didn't really want to use since the bricks were scratched and yellowed. One of my many hobbies is detailing my car, so I decided to put some of those tools to use. :) I documented my progress to see if I could really make these bricks look better. This first pictu...

Thanks everyone for the welcomes! Welcome to CC ! Wow... that set for 30$...good deal ! What's your favourite theme ? I'm not really sure if I have one favorite theme. I guess I'll have to go with the large scale models. My wife and I finished building the Taj Mahal a few weeks ago and it is ...

Hi everyone

How is everybody doing? I'm a new user from MA. I have been lurking for a few months now, but figured it was time to join the community :) I started collecting Lego when I was a kid. My parents couldn't afford much, so I only got two to three sets a year. After starting High School, my Lego hobby we...
