Re: CCCVII - Postmill

Thanks all (I was about to write Happy Christmas - that too!) :D "Just" ! In a "missing my normal degree of action" sense  The walls and path reminded me very much of the Shire from the Lord of the RIngs. Funny you should say that, I had considered putting the grass level w...

Re: CCCVII: witch trial

Very nice. I love the overall atmosphere, the statues, crucifix and "evidence"

I would recommend inverting the angled supports for the balcony, so that the tiles show "outwards", and the underside of the plates doesn't show, but that's only a minor nitpick

Re: Colossal Castle Contest 7

Lego Muji Half origami, half Lego. Would this be valid to integrate into a MOC for this contest? I'm considering making a curved wall out of card, built into a brick-built building, with brick-built door-frame etc. My concern is that it may introduce too great an element of customization or a non-L...

Re: Small cross: how?

Try using a coin in the centre of 4 gear stick bases (like here(also the crosses on the outside, made of technic angle connectors). Also, a 1x1 tile/plate with 4 clips around it works (like here).

Re: CCCVII: Dissolution of a monastery 1536

Thanks all! :D Brilliant! just one critic, the soldiers equipements for 1536. Agreed, the soldiers are totally inaccurate... but so is the rest of the MOC! The Dissolution was largely a peaceful (as in violence-less) process - there was no mass slaughter of monks at all. Beautifull monastary! I love...

CCCVII: Dissolution of a monastery 1536

Henry VIII disbanded monasteries, friaries and nunneries in England between 1536-1541, essentially to take their money...

Re: CCCVII: Medieval Port

Cheers all :D Yeah! Go Team Tony! I also noticed that in the thumbnail, there's imperial soldiers, while in the actual pictures, there's crown soldiers. Is there another version of this MOC we're going to see? :D Wooh! Team Tony for the (metaphorical) cup! I replaced the Crownies with Imperial Soldi...

Re:

A Leonardo design would be technically okay, but as noted, it's not really something that changed the times if it was never realized during the middle ages. I was expecting that; I had thought that even though not realised, the designs may have had impacts on the way people lived e.g. greater desir...

Re: Colossal Castle Contest 7

1) "Create a scene with a device that changed medieval warfare, commerce, construction, manufacturing, or exploration." Is this something that has to be grounded in history and reality or can it be something more fantastical? Would dragon balloons or steampunk-esque stuff be alright or no...

Re: Ye Medieval Fayre

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! I do hope you're entering this in the misc. category. It's simply wonderful. Oh yeah. Any MOCs I build from now until 31st Dec are almost guaranteed to be for the CCCVII. I started building this the day before the categories were announced, hoping it could fit ...
