Hi, I was wondering if theres good sites that show how to do a variety of roof styles (other than basic tiling of course).
Thanks,
Paul

Ephesians 6:16 "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God..."

I have not seen a roof how-to site or article, and I think that this type of article would be a great addition to this site. Maybe folks could post their building techniques in this thread, and then we could convert them to an article.
For my part, I created this 1/4 overlap roof with 2x2 tiles:

Here is a picture that shows the underlying structure:

I know that this is not much of a how-to, and if you have questions, ask here or send me a PM.
I have said it before, but I'll take this opportunity to express my opinions concerning C-C content and direction. I have seen many posts lately that ask questions or bring up topics that have been discussed before. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as new information or techniques are presented continually. This is a symptom of an underlying inefficiency in the C-C site architecture. There is alot of great information, but it is diffucult to access. We the members of the C-C community should be consolidating this information into how-to and idea collection articles. In addition, the how-to articles must be maintained by keeping links current and adding additional ideas/tehcniques.
Back to the topic, does anyone else have roof ideas and techniques to post?

I have to agree. Someone posted a very nice outdoors standard with a lot of good pics of landscaping. It was posted at least a year ago, and is essentially a tutorial. Yet is it only available on these boards, and only if you search well. The tutorial section on the site itself does not appear to have been updated recently.
I know boards are easty to set up and leave alone, but they are a fairly lousy system for archiving information in an easy to search format.
I would prefer to see tutorials on the main site, linked off and index page so I can scroll and read titles to find what I need.

Good question. When I built my new Angela's Herb Shop, the roof was the hardest part.
