7009 The Final Joust = $10.99

7090 Crossbow Attack = $6.99

7091 Knights' Catapult Defense = $9.99

Are these really the American Toys R Us Prices?!!

Heck, the Final Joust is actually CHEAPER in Canada! AND our Dollar is weaker!! Who would have thought that US consumers were going to get taken like that?

Toys R Us has really been hurting recently competing with places Wal-Mart and Target . So they took the KB Toys route and raised prices.

Wow, for once Australian prices appear to be better than those too

Hmmm... I just go in my work truck to pick them up and figure it pays for the gas price I would've spent to drive my personal vehicle and viola! I feel better at heart! Actually, this is the only set I lack, besides that weird skeleton cave that I won't buy until on sale.

The knight is awesome and the undead minifig is great for making wraiths...

The funny thing is, I prefer this Barding over the one featured in the larger sets. It seems more regal. Honestly with the Gold plate, this Barding seems better suited for the King as opposed to a simple Knight.

The Toys 'R' Us in Idaho Falls, ID had all of the new sets this evening at prices similar to those posted above.

I got Final Joust ($9.99) and Knights' Catapult Defense ($10.99). I'm amassing funds for a later purchase of the castle ($99.99).

First impressions: the minifigs in the joust are awesome. I thought the printed euro-armor was going to be lame but I really like it. The barding is gorgeous, and the knight's shiny visor is ... shiny! =)

The skeletons on the other hand are a bit of a disappointment because of their disproportionately long arms that aren't quite straight.

All in all, I like these two sets quite a lot and will certainly buy more of them. Now if they'd just release Castle Battle Packs...

I really like the new Knight in this set. However, it is missing something... a PLUME.

Otherwise this is one great set with a knight whose design looks to have been partly inspired by the Gondor soldiers with the metallic silver appearance and black color scheme.

The barding could actually fit onto the black skeleton horse but it looks funny.

I recently got, built, and liked this set. It is a good set, and I could spend hours playing with it, especially with the others.

Thumbs up to LEGO!

So they took the KB Toys route and raised prices.
Because that worked -so- well for KB. (dripping sarcasm)

I got the Final Joust some days ago. Great little set. The idea of it is kind of silly (the horrible evil monstrosity is entering the lists for a gentlemanly way to settle their cosmic differences?) but for what it really is - an army builder and a way for kids to get a good guy and a bad guy cheaply - it's fantastic.

Like Blue, I think the gold-plate accented trapper is more kingly than knightly, so I gave it to the king. Really nice that they made a cheap set with the visored knight, since to my knowledge the only other set he comes in is the Castle (which I also have and think is great).

Best Minifigs in a very, very long time.
Forge not works of art but swords of death, for therein lies great art.

I wonder, I bought this set yesterday at a local toystore for Euro 7,95. Wich is kind of weird... If it's $ 11.95 in the States, it should be Euro 11.95 in Europe, wich is the case most of the time.

I was going to say it's an amazing set for 7,95, you get a fully armed knight on a horse with a barding. Plus bonus parts Very Happy
I live in the States and I bought this set online yesterday for $7.99

the greatest castle set I have ever had. It offers a white horse, fully armored (and accurate) silver knight, skeleton shield, red brown log pieces, dark blue and gold flag, light bley arches, the great horse barding and gold horse head,...

this set is great, and only for 7.99€!

what do you say? I can't use the black horse because I don't care about an undead army? Well, it was very common in the middle ages as until the Napoleonic wars that people ate horse meat (It still is, but not in such large quantities) from death horses, andwhen they baked it, the bones were burnt black.

I also really like the use of non printed torsos in this set.

But I don't like the lesser quality the classic sword seems to have in this and other sets. The light gray and dark gray swords seem to be less flexible...

I got this set about two weeks ago. I noticed the skeleton knight is a disadvantage since his steed is shorter than the human knight's.

plus the lance can go through his open helmet :p

BTW wouldn't it be foolish to swing a "goeiendag" while on a horse? I think you'll hurt your horse sooner than your enemy...
