I have never bought Mega Crap, but I have received it as a gift. It has sadly become mixed in with the gold. However, any I find is quickly burned with a Fresnel Lens.

No, I have never committed the crime of giving a single penny of my hard earned money to the corrupt mega blok industry. I have, however, received a set as a party favor when I was younger. I was a NASCAR garage and car with no minifigure as I recall.

The should be a third option; Megablocks NO!

Alas, aside from my old school Nintendo, and my guitar, I have never had any interest in any other toys aside from Lego©.

I do have maybe 5 to 10 Megablocks that I received in a box of Lego© that was given to me but I see no reason to use them, unless I build something extremely large that requires "filler" bricks.

Megablocks are a weak excuse for a building toy compared to Lego©. They're still functional though, you can still build stuff with 'em. This whole topic seems kinda juvenile to me.

I see no need in wasting bricks if they're usable. Remember there's children in third world countries that have no bricks at all. (LET ALONE FOOD, CLEAN WATER AND PROPER MEDICAL CARE) Seems greedy to me to be so anti-/megablock/tyco/oxford/clone brick etc that one would actually throw away/destroy them. Just drop 'em off at your local thrift-outlet and maybe some kid out there who can't afford Lego's may grow to love building/creating, who knows, he could grow up to be the next great Lego© Master Builder.

Yes.

I was building a Quatro tower with my 2-year-old son one time, and we put his Megabloks bricks (all 10 of them, received from a clueless relative) on top for more height.

Now shoot me.

I've used clones with lego before. Notably Tyco - I think their quality is just as good as Lego. Also the Cobi Best Lock is just as good. As far as megabloks? nah. When they first came out they had these really cool looking transparent blocks in a space set. So I bought some (not being afraid of clones  )... however, they were so bad. Wouldn't stay together worth beans. For the longest time I never bought another MB set. However, my son loves the dragon sets and I have let him pick what he wants to spend his money on. so I was exposed to the dragons.
I found three on sale and bought them, and am quite happy with them. I doubt I will use them in a moc, but they are fun to play with.

I've bought a bunch of Megablok sets for the Orc looking creatures from their dragon series. They are the ones in the front/left of this picture:

Yes, I will admit to sinning. I've gotten some off-brand bricks mixed in with an e-bay auction. There are a few bricks and plates that have found their way into the interior of MOCs in the past, but I don't think that's happened recently. I keep meaning to go through and find the remaining offenders and discard them. The only time an off-brand element has taken a visible role in a MOC is this space buggy:

Those tank treads are, I believe, Tyco. One of them has since broken.

Unfortunately, I am guilty of having mixed other brands of bricks with LEGO. There are a few 2x4s I have that are TYCO and I only use them when absolutely necessary. They fit fairly well and are the same dimensions so there's no big deal there, but I still cringe at the sight of a non-LEGO brick invading my castles. If I had more bricks I might get rid of them, but they're somewhat useful for fillers and don't invade too much. :(
I agree with the above statement.

I did use clone bricks as I was emerging from my Dark Age. I thought they would be roughly the same. The colors were a bit different, and so was the quality. I think Lego has superior quality to the rest, though Meg Bloks has a greater appeal to kids. My wife bought 10-15 of the Dragons' series of sets because they look so cool.

I don't mix them any longer, but I do use them. Like Jojo I have recieved some clone bricks mixed in with bulk lots. In 2000 I built a ruined castle for the local Sherwood Robin Hood Festival, held in Sherwood OR, where I lived at the time. It was made from Tyco, MB and others all mixed in, and the colors were all over the place. So naturally I mutilated it! I spray painted the whole thing gray, used silicone to put on vines and painted them (the silicone didn't hold the green paint very well) and some blue for a well. I won a prize for it, but when I went down to pick it up, someone had claimed it! So I never got any pictures. I did build a Roman bath from a clone I don't recognize. I painted that and still have it. I'll try to post pics later.

Yes, sadly I did back when I was little. But it wasn't really my fault, because my parents would by me Legos and Megabloks thinking that it is all the same kind of stuff. But now I would never even think of mixing Legos with Megabloks.

Have you ever mixed LEGO and mega bloks?
I was young, and I needed the brick.

Back when I was 11 or so, I mixed Lego and Tyco Super Blocks-- but even then I wasn't comfortable with it. I would attempt to prefer Lego in my creations when possible.

Since then, it's only been accidental, which HAS gotten me to use MB's. But it's happened.

I have one suspect green 1x2 plate that is slightly off colour & on the underside has a small rectangular section where that little stud would normally be in the middle of the element. But it is actually marked with the LEGO logo. I have a feeling it's some kind of knock off & have no idea where it came from, but I use it all the time :)

Other than that I would never use clones, & those I find I place in the tub I put aside for broken elements I can't bare to throw away ;)

I used to use a wide variety of Megablocks in my MOCs. Whenever a piece was needed, I would put on whatever came first to hand, Megablock or Lego. I have since then ended the practice entirely, and am making efforts to rid my collection of all traces of Megablocks.

Yea, I've done it...and I'm not proud of it. I did use the Tyco tank with the treads to make a Memphis Bell like bomber one time and actually bought those Blok Bots for the ideas. When I hold a Megablok in my hand the feeling of it like it is so inferior to Lego. That along with the crappy mini-figs is what kept me from buying some of their cooler ideas when my money was at an all time low. I mean, if I were a parent who had never played with Lego as a child, I would have a hard time passing up Mega-bloks when comparing prices. And thanks to Ser Lokar's post, the next time I see Mega-bloks in the store I won't glare at them in disgust, but remember humbly how a mom thought she was doing right by her son. I have since given my off brands to my nephew. Let him mix them with his Lego :P

I have an old set of basic MegaBlocks bricks that look almost the same as LEGO, and actually fit perfectly with LEGO bricks. I would like to get rid of them, but they make up over half of my 2x4s and a large quantity of my other bricks. It would be very expensive to buy the equivalent amount of LEGO bricks to replace them, so I think I'll have to use them for now.

I also have a MegaBlocks dragon fortress, which I wish I had never bought. The bricks are rounded and will not fit together properly. But I must say that the dragons included in this set are much better than LEGO's dragon in the new Skeleton Tower set.
