I've seen this beauty's WIP pictures and I must say, I wasn't expecting such a good result (there's a Turkish saying that goes: A good friend speaks the bitter). You really give a "star fort" its true shape.
That trebuchet is also great, a worthy defense for a worthy castle. One thing remains, my janissaries laying a siege on that castle .
Beatiful!
I like the shape and the catapult of course, I like very much the choice of the colours and the mixed use of bricks/colours (old grey/new grey/green, etc...) for building the walls.
I like very much the thin tower.
Roofs are beatiful.
What else can I say than: This is truly a great castle. This kind of a citadel is something you rarely see done with Lego, and you captured it both beautifully and with great craftsmanship. I also like that it is irregular in shape which leads to a nice contrast to what one has in mind when thinking of a strategically planned citadel. Also the many details are very nice. I like the paper-scissors-rock-game there. That's funny.

This is a fantastic castle. It's not too large and it has an absolutely perfect shape. With so many rectangular shaped castles, it's always nice to see something a bit more unique. This definitely fits the bill. Working in so many different angles must have been genuinely challenging. The greatest thing about the castle though is that it is so full of life. Far too often decent sized castles seem to be devoid of life. The same could never be said of this lively fortress.
This castle is fantastic. It's got such an interesting shape to it and lots of fun details. The only thing I usually like to see more of is some landscaping to get a feel of the surrounding terrain. Although, I understand what a tedious effort that might be considering the shape of this.
There isn't much that hasn't already been said, but I'll still say: wow!
What I love about this is that it has a certain degree of realism, and it's a later era than what LEGO castle is generally accustomed to. The star shape definitely payed off and I think that mixing colors give the walls a tacked-on look, which gives the impression of an older castle modified for new war technologies (namely gunpowder). This actually reminds me a lot of a fort I visited in Germany, though I don't remember it's name; it had a near identical outer wall structure and cannon posts.
Hey AC, did you take the chapel part right from Hammerfell? because it does look like the back piece of the chapel that I saw on Legoworld.
If so, great work on fitting something older into something new!

Nope, it's a completely new one. The one in Hammerfell was tan with dark gray, and quite a bit taller. Also that one was 18 studs wide and this one is 13 studs wide. This one is smaller and darker to give it an old worn look as one of the older parts of the castle that they didn't change after the introduction of cannons.
