Elven Mage

Post by Legolas »

Hello All,

Just showing off my Elven Mage I made for the C-C contest.

Image

The decals are all water slide which work very well, and are 99% transparent when applied. His ears were the funnest things to make, and I'm very pleased on how they came out. Well just thought I'd share him with you guys. Let me know that you think.

Enjoy.

The ears are much more refined than your previous attempts at ears, and I have to say that the decals look great.

He hardly looks like a grat mage (elven or no) to my mind, but more like a pouting pixie.

Doesn't mean he doesn't look great though!

Yea, this is really well done - i'm feelin' some jealousy here... it must have taken a fair amount of work... but the results are very cool. Great job.

Cool! You did a great job building him! He doesn't look too happy though does he?

I like him a lot. I really like the decals. The ears are a very cool adition. You're the only guy I have seen make ears on a LEGO head. Awesome!

I just wanted to say that I love these stickers, they really envelope the idea of an elven mage, as opposed to a normal elf. Also, with some color changes, you could have a medicine man, or a sage, or all manors of things.

Thanks everyone for the great comments :D

The ears were made from some scrap pieces of a yellow scimitar that I had laying around, they don't match up perfectly, but I do agree that they look alot better then the ones on my sig fig. In the future I may redo his ears, only time will tell....

He doesnt take kindly being called a pixie  .

I've seen one other person, the guy or people from EbricKs, though they used decals..

The torso and leg designs look great, but his chest looks a little pale (or perhaps it's just the photo). The ears are also a nice feature.

good job, really well done...BUT....
Please dont get me wrong I too customize figs and do support it but your idea with the ears just reminded me of the new pirate figs with their ears and noses that stick out. All I'm saying is lets not give Lego the idea that we want figures with protruding ears and noses already on them. If this happens I may just have to jump off a BURP.
