KK2 STICKERED shields?
I mentioned this over on Lugnet, but no response, so here's hoping someone here has some input:
Recently, someone bought me a copy of the KK2 castle wall (8799). But... it came with UNPRINTED shields and a small sticker sheet of the 5 shield designs for KK2. How awesome is that? My first copy of the set came with the normal printed shields, so clearly this is a variation within the same set. Has anyone else gotten these? Has anyone else gotten these in a different set?

Acha! Indeed it has been discovered, and from another set, too:

I'm totally psyched about these blank shields. The printed shields are alright, but just like the rest of the kk2 figs, they're just too "kiddie". Blank shields are just so much more flexible.

Yup...I just bought 5 of them on Bricklink for a buck a piece. Now I have to figure out what I am going to do with them.TheBohrok wrote:I wish I could get some of those blank shields, but there are hardly any on Bricklink and they're expensive.

I bought the castle wall with blank sheilds... so I think I have around 3-4? I have no idea what to do with them, but as everyone has said, ther are preferable of the cartoon-printed ones.

I have several of these I got with #8778 Border Ambush. I thought it was a clever idea, one TLC should explore. All though, I do recall disliking all the decals that many of the Lego City and Town sets came with. eventually they would fall off and then you whould be left with a sticky spot that was incredibly hard to wash off.
I do have a question though that I hope someone could answer. When I first found Classic-Castle, there was a download of some sort that let you design and print custom sticker sheets to cover triangle and oval shields. Does anyone know if this still exists? I would be very happy to know.

Why do you need all those minifigs? You'll poke your eye out!

my castle wall came with printed shields, but my siege engine had blank shields (and camw with not one, but TWO sheets of stickers). oh, and if you want blank shirlds, just brasso them. (for the one or two of you who don't know. brasso = pot and pan cleaning product great for taking the official print off lego minifigs and shields that can be aquired at wal-mart).
