Merlin and the storm

By sacrificing Merlin to the great sea god Manadwyn, Nimue summoned a storm to wreck Arthur's fleet, and with it his chances of defeating Mordred. Throughout the storm, though, Merlin's corpse was seen to be floating behind Arthur's ship, shielding it and its crew form harm. When the storm abated, Arthur's was the only ship of the invasion fleet still floating, forcing him, Guinevere, Derfel, Ceinwyn, Gwydre, Seren and the remaining wolf tails at Mordred's mercy.
