Re: Theme with Best Sets in 2009
"Castle"... With slight provisions This year has been a mixed year for me so far: Yes, I'm a castle-head. And yes, I've loved castle sets (MMV - Bought 2, Drawbridge Defence.) But money is tight, so they'll be no more big sets bought by me this year. But then I've bought other stuff for pi...

Re: New Power Miners Giant Rock Monsters
I like the little rock monsters and the Crystal King, but I am not sure about the large rock monsters. Definitely prefer the Rock Raiders rock monsters to the Power Miners large rock monsters. Crystal King? Have I missed something here? Is that part of the Rock Raiders sets for 2009/10? Crystal Kin...

Re: Custom Castle Capes
That's rather good!
It's bigger than the old plastic capes lego used to do - which I think works well - and It's smaller than the more recent fabric capes (which for me are too long, and with a hood headpiece make an entire cloak)
Genius!

Re: Medieval village / Modular Castle section
Stunning. Awesome. Inspirational.
I've just scrolled down the blog page and my jaw has bounced off the desk more than once.
Lots going on in your MOCs but it looks right and not cluttered
I love the Inn.
Congratulations on the cash, by the way. I know I'd be sad to part with such a creation.

Re: 10197 Fire Brigade
Wow! Sadly, quite expensive (I'm in the UK so a straight currency conversion to Euros shows me how much of a good deal the UK is actually getting compared to DE (is that DEnmark or DEutchland by the way?), but still expensive. I've not been "into" town for a while - as my castle co...

Re: If you could bring back any faction?
I'd like to see Crusaders (many of mine have faded torsos), Black Falcons (Who wouldn't), the Wolfpack (Non-royal faction) and the KK1 knights with a bit of a modern revamp. Can we call peasents a faction? We seem to be enojoying some good non-military/royal figs at the moment - The peasents in the ...

Why have I got a picture in my mind of a geeky squire challenging his Knight to a Jousting match, then going away and building a clockwork Knight to do the job for him?Rick-Ricks wrote:I really like this, When I saw it My mind immediatly thought of using it for a Steampunk Moc
Great MOCs (both styles).

Great minds think alike. I was thinking of sand green instead of the medium blue, although I'd try to simplify the (re-)build by using larger pieces (1x3s instead of a 1x1 and 1x2 in places etc.) Basically as long as you can get the 1x4x1 arches in the desired colour then it shouldn't be too problem...

Cool custom! I think (nearly) everyone here falls into one of two camps with Zwords... Hate 'em or well, dislike them intensely. That said, making them two colour like that has me thinking they can be made useful for something! I'm not familiar with Redwall (so I'm going to look it up now)......

Crikey! I know i've moaned in the past about UK prices, but $200 is about £100.... and its for sale in the UK at £150 - a 50% markup. No thanks, Lego. That said, wonderful source for pieces. Lego don't seem to do bulk packs of e.g. Grey bricks anymore, just pick-a-brick... Does anyone have a recomme...

Any 1 know a type of paint that comes in a big selection of colours, but dosent chip of easily? I use the Umbrol paints, which are the usual tiny pots of model paint found here in the UK. Be carefull not to slap too much paint on or you get horible lumps (I've got the knack of it now...) There's one...

Hi folks, I bought one of these in the UK. From the top of my head 10176 was the castle. Here in the UK you could order K10176 (just like you can order groups of sets). It cost the same as 10176, but I got the boxed 10176 castle and a loose bag of (Off the top of my head) 25 black flagpoles, 25 red ...
