Background: Born of Jarvick and the former governess of the Dragon Master islands (but unaware of his heritage because his mother died shortly after his birth), Effin was splashed with dragon blood during te failed spell (see Clyde Soerytseeker) Effin learned how to disguise the bright green scales that were growing out of his skin from a fourth-rate wizard and later went on to become a wizard himself.
