Great Wall of China - Shanhai Pass

The formidable Wall of China has for centuries protected those behind the wall. The Shanhai Pass was a fortress gateway which served to protect inner China from Manchuria.

...But the greatest of Gates are only as strong as their gatekeepers...

In 1644, Wu Sangui opened the gates at Shanhai Pass allowing the Manchu Army to pass through and conquer China, ending the Ming Dynasty and ushering in the Qing Dynasty.
