Knight Testing

The king's enforcers are testing soldiers who want to become knights by making them perform three feats.
The first feat is to scale a vertical wall.
The second feat is to defeat a wild boar without a weapon.
The third feat is to skewer a falcon on the wing with a crossbow quarrel.

I got the idea for the feats from the movie The Court Jester

The Captain's Compass

The intrepid exploror, Captain Ashton, is depicted in his cabin finding out a course using a chart and a compass.
Since a compass's needle always points north it is a very valuable tool when you are sailing.
