Feast of Fools

"The Saturnalian licentiousness which is then permitted is called Decembrian, because it was customary of old among the pagans that during this month slaves and serving-maids should have a sort of liberty given them, and should be put upon an equality with their masters, in celebrating a common festivity."

The Church and the authorities were never happy with this bawdy, drunken festival and The Feast of Fools was officially forbidden by The Council of Basel in 1431.

A recently deceased noblewoman has been reported to be haunting the inhabitants of the small village of Tweeness-on-the-River. Armed with the Holy Cross and a charter of absolution from the bishop, a local clergyman and two sturdy peasants attempt to keep the woman in her final rest.

Rebels

Poor peasants have seen the church imposing fees to pay each month and they observe the clergy live a rich and luxury life. It's time to say "enough", its time to rebel. Please note that one of the soldiers has understood the right motivations of the rebels and has decided to join them. Below the church there's a prison where an eretic has been imprisoned and there is a "relic hunter", who digs tunnels below the cemetery and take parts from the skeletons which the clergy show the believers as precious relics. Indeed the relics are just parts of the dead bodies of the relatives of the believers!

Sunday's sermon at Notre Dame de la Carce (Marjevols - Gevaudan)

Between 1764 and 1767, a wolf-like animal known as The Beast of Gévaudan has terrorised the province of Gévaudan. Each Sunday, the nobles and all the civilians went to the church to pray God in order to save them from the beast. But the nobles were less and less concerned about this threat, thinking being saved by their status...

The Funeral of Roland Kingsley

After many decades fighting and serving for king and country, Roland Kingsley was killed in action. Cunning in his own right yet quiet, the funeral was a celebration of his life with a small turn out of allies, family and friends.

Theft at Scherpenheuvel

This MOC shows the theft of the statue of the holy mother Mary in Scherpenheuvel, Belgium, just south of where I live.
I am aware of the historical inconsistency: the church was built there after the attempted theft of the statue, because according to local legend the statue of Mary froze the thief in stone, thus foiling the theft. It was because of this that the site was declared holy and the church was built there.
I just think it's an awesome church and wanted to build it out of LEGO.
